Do it yourself (DIY) Air Plant Terrarium Centrepiece

Air plant terrariums are loads of fun! Since there are no functionality requirements of air plants you can do pretty much whatever you want when it comes to building the terrarium. The only thing you will absolutely need to keep in mind is quick access to remove your air plant. Easy in and out of your terrarium is important as you will still need to bath your water plant on a monthly basis.

We like to provide on-a-budget DIY crafts for our viewers! This particular air plant was build as an engagement present for friends of ours. We spent a total of $40 CAD creating this stunning DIY air plant centrepiece terrarium. Air plant terrariums are beautiful for wedding gifts, wedding decor, home decor and as table centrepieces, not to mention super easy to make!

  1. You can showcase the bottom of your glassware or use rocks to create your base layer. This is up to you!
  2. Add decorative materials such as faux diamonds and pearls, rocks, moss, bark and sentimental memorabilia.
  3. Add your air plant. Air plants should not be glued or tightly squeeze into place, this can damage their leaves. If transporting your air plant terrarium note that it will move around, re-arrange once they are place.
